I mentioned to our local service manager about puting larger tires on my 2003 2500 hd dmax and he said, not to run larger tires the ABS system would not work properly. Has any one had any problem or experience with this.

Sounds like he's feeding you a load of bull. I know if all 4 tires are the same diameter (no matter how big), the ABS computer knows no different. Not sure about running different tire sizes front and rear.

The ABS system can be changed for the diffrent tire size using a tech2. I have had this done on both of my trucks. What the tech2 can't do is adjust the speedometer. I found the speedo is more acurate with the larger tires anyway.

Same results as above-
Speedo more accurate with 265's deep lug snow tires.
No problems at all with ABS

So was the speedo slower or faster with 245 compaired to the 265 tires???????

With the 245's I found my speedo was going faster -- putting more miles on than you really were. The 265's put the speedo just about right on the money.

Ditto, to what TurboAl said. You think GM wanted us to be out of warranty faster?

I hate it when there is no spelll chick. ;)
Up here we have roadside speed checkers (vol group) that have a radar gun set up on the ground and a large sign that tells you your speed. They really must think I am crazy because I usually circle the block a couple of times and put the truck on cruise control then check the speedo against what the sign says.
BTW the 1993 has about the same speedo error so I really wonder if GM could refuse warrenty if you were only a couple of thousand miles over the max and could prove your speedo was wrong.

When I went up one tire size on my '03 2500HD I checked speed and milege with my GPS. I had to multiply the odometer mileage times 1.0366 to get actual mileage. With the speedo on 60, I was actually going about 61.

I put 315/70/17s on the truck this weekend. ABS knows no different

It's true--ABS won't know the difference. It's looking for wheels that rotate significantly slower than the rest, then releases brake pressure to that wheel(s). Tested mine yesterday and it worked as advertised. I have 285/75-16 Dueler A/T Revos. Corrected speedo with Predator programmer--speedo is close to dead on compared to GPS. Al
