Any of you guys out there having any better luck then I am concerning the stock tires on the duellys.I have only 24.000 on the tires & there near half wore out already.Guestion is what is the average mileage you should get with the stock tires?Had them rotated when I was suppose too but they still seem to be wearing down faster then I exspected them too.I am not going to try & put anything back on the truck except the stock size it came with.Im pulling a fifth wheel trailer that has a tongue weight of 7,200 lbs. on it.The trailer is a tri-axle 36 fter.Pulling averages out to about 50% of the time.Thats between pulling & empty.Anybody out there got the stock tires on there duellys & how many miles are you getting before replacement? Hammer :(

hammer,
I have a single wheel 3/4 ton with only 24,000 on it & my tires are way past the 1/2 way point. I pull a 5er with 2100 pin weight & only have about 8-10,000 miles pulling.typical factory origionals.

have just under 14,000 on my 3500, tires rotated every 5000...have found two wheels that come from the factory out of round, both replaced under warranty...will be surprised and with the weight of this truck pleased if I get 40,000 out of this set of tires :confused:

JE Bar, I kinda thought maybe Id see how many trucks out there with the duellys were doing with mileage on there tires.The way it looks I dont think any of us will pass the 40.000 mark with them,looks more like its gonna be closer to 30,000 average.I got 24,000 on mine now & there close to half wore down already.With the money we paid for these trucks youd think theyd give us something for our money.Not today anymore.Thanks for the comeback,Hammer :(

The high wear rate just might be related to the weights you are carrying.

like I said, would be most pleased with 40,000 but tend to agree 30,000 more likely...haven't a clue what I will replace mine with but don't anticipate changing size...just too may problems even though larger ones would sure look better :confused:

Viking,JEBar,It looks like most of us are running about the same mileage wear on our stock tires.When it comes to replacing mine Im gonna stay with the same size thats on it but dont know either what brand im gonna use yet.Thanks guys for the return replys.Hammer smile.gif

25,000 miles on my stock tires, more than half worn out. I do tow some, about 10,000 miles, so expected some wear. I'll have to start looking around for replacement tires that will do a bit better than what I'm getting. If anyone finds a better tire, post it.

Got 42000 on the factory tires, looks like the 265 Coopers are not going to make that mileage, rear tires are wearing out much too fast. Think it could have to do with foot pressure?

Hammer;
Are your tires "D" range or "E" range? Most of the 3500 Chevys have "D" range and will give less mileage than a "E" range tire. My GMC came with "E" range and I have 16,000 and can see little wear. About 50% has been towing 34' 5er.
