My Allison has been a bit noisy when cold since day one. But when I REALLY hear the "whining sound in the morning" is when my wife wakes up.

Mine whines in the morning as well. I thought it was the Allison until it heats up.

I can confirm, since no-one named Allison lives in my truck that the morning whine coming from the truck and sounding like the fan is in fact the fan. Perfectly normal operation for a fan clutch.
