On my new 03 , there is no wire for the trailer brake controler. There was a paper supplement stating something about your headlight switch interuppting with your brakes???

03 dont have it, dont know why, has to be purchased from dealer, dont know part no. it in the accesories catalog, Dont forget to pull the dummy j-case fuse inunder under hood block and install a 30 amper. that will power you aux for your trailer, charge batteries etc.

On the 2003's they changed the location of 2 wires in the underdash plug in. You can use a trailer harness from a 2002 or 2001 by changing the locations of the 2 wires. If you do a search on htis forum you will find which wires to exchange. It works cause I wired my new 2003 3500 with the old harness.
This is what I copied from a previouse posting, interchange 2 wires, that are located on terminal "A" and terminal "D".
hope that is some help????
good luck
