Have a friend who's alternator has squeeked since day 1. This alternator has been re-done internally and still no fix. Any clues to a fix? GM has no part no that the dealership can find. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it's coming from the alternator and not from the Belt Tensioner Pulley Bearing?

Just a thought?

He has already replaced that. Thanks..any more suggestions?

My truck recently developed a strange "squeaking" type noise - it is somewhat intermittent - but quite audible over the whine of the turbo. I had it to the dealer last week and they chalked it up to some "vibrating noises" but UNFORTUNATELY that was not it - I'm wondering if it is my alternator?? Or the belt tensioner?? I'll being that up with the service gurus next time it's in for an oil change!! :D

Mine has a "squeak" when the AC compressor cycles on and off. It has 42,000 miles now.
