View Full Version : Western Snow Plow
I purchased a Western UniMount snow plow and I would like to know if anyone has installed a Western plow WITH a Kennedy headlight harness kit ?? If so how and what "splices " did you have to do . I really , really have to keep the Quad head light harness and the Bright lights.

I did it and it was easy. Just follow Kennedy's instructions and it's all plug and play. I did mark the plugs with a fineline Sharpie to keep them straight before I unplugged anything. It actually did work right the first try.

I wanted to get a Western plow for my 3500 extended cab, long bed. The plow is 8 1/2 feet and weighs about 770 pounds. I was wondering if anyone out there can give me some of the pros and cons of this set up? I know it is quite heavy for the front of the truck and is really long for private driveways but I was going to use it for my own personal use. I may do some work for the town. It won't be long before the snow is flying. Sorry I had to say that.
Thanks , Art

I plow a couple of commercial sites and a few dozen driveways. Most of the driveways are done with the crew cab dually with a minimum of problems manuvering. According to GM there is not enough weight capacity in the front end to support a plow but the way that I look at it is how much time is spent carrying the plow and how much time is spent pushing snow? The Ultra Mount is so easy to hook up and take off that my wife does it in under 2 minutes herself. If we are not out plowing then the blade is off the truck. Just have to keep the front tires aired all the way up, which I do anyway to eliminate the sway in turns.

Thanks John,
That's all I needed to hear.
