mark,
if it only does it after sitting a few days, then it's probably a "converter drainback" problem. g.m. is currently working on a fix. this issue has come up in the last couple of months, so it may take g.m. a little while to find a resolution. in the mean time, when you start it after sitting a few days, let in idle for a couple of minutes. if you put it in gear too soon, and it doesn't shift, it may turn on the ses light. if it does, shut the engine off for a minute, then start again, it should be ok then, and the light should go off. contact your local dealer and explain problem to them, have them call you when a fix is available.
hope this helps.
