View Full Version : 2500HD Rear Suspension
Just installed the Edge Juice box for some added power, and now have another problem. Anybody got any ideas on how to make the rear axle hook up on hard acceleration? Mine likes to bounce (pogo stick style) and the tires spin...especially if it's raining. Already installed Bilsteins thinking that was the ticket, but no luck! Looking for other ideas!!

Short of traction bars or Timbrens, air pressure is about the only thing you can do to limit the spring wind-up (bounce/hop). Start at max pressure and come down in 5 psi increments until it becomes civilized. Oem tires/wheels with no load, you can get the pressure safely down to 30'ish.
As far as the wheel spin, it's a no brainer. Power vs. weight on the rear wheels determines that. Pickups are notorious for it. If the wheels spin, you've overpowered your traction. Turn off the box when it rains. No fix for that.

a old drag raceing trick was to use a hose clam or 2 on the hellper leaf to the main spring to preload the springs..... I doesnt take much weight to stop wheel spin .... 2~300lbs in the bed make a big differance
