Tranny filter

Changed tranny filter (allison filter) & was going to install Baldwin filter when I noticed that the magnet covered the oil holes for the oil entering the filter. The allison holes ( 6 ) are further out from the center than the Baldwin ( 8 ) holes are. Hence the magnet blocks the oil entering the filter. Anyone else notice this? John

I have two Baldwin BT8460 filters that I bought from Kennedy and I checked them today. The holes are close enough to the center that I believe you are correct about the magnet blocking oil flow. I will check with Kennedy's web site to find out if there is a different Baldwin part number we should be using.
