View Full Version : Leather 40/20/40 Bench 2005
Does anyone know if the 2005 will have available a 40/20/40 leather bench in the Chevy LT or GMC SLT models? We are expecting a fourth child and we really do not want to have to switch to a FORD. (What a bad word) I heard this may be avail in 2005. I am hoping someone can help. I will wait to buy if it is available, otherwise, I will have no choice but to switch. (I could always leave the wife at home...HAHA)

They have a leather 40/20/40 now, just not heated. I have sat in an Ext Cab Dmax/Alli w/ leather split bench and it was very nice. I think if I was ordering a truck, I'd go that route.
Thanks. Was the trim level LT or SLT. I was told that this was not possible.
When I ordered my truck in 01 it was an option for the 40/20/40 leather bench in the LS trim I think it was like $1,200 with no heat , so I went the cloth seat
Thanks. It appears as though this is a Canadian issue. The trucks we get in Canada are built in the Michigan plant and I cannot understand why GM will not allow a truck shipped into Canada to come with a leather bench. The people at GM need to pull their heads out of their butts!!! This is so frustrating. If you want to drive a GM in Canada I guess you can only have three children! Maybe there is some discrimination case here.

I had to get the On$tar I didn't want, and the Bo$e system I didn't want, and the center con$ole I didn't want to get heated seats. I agree they have their heads up their butts!
I solved the front seat problem by buying a center seat on eBay and replacing the center console. There are several nasty Bose and HVAC issues to solve when doing this.
I'm not sure what the big deal is with the leather covering, but I do know that you can find aftermarket seat heater/coolers (one unit per seat - probably 3 units for entire bench)for use under your cloth covers. I imagine you could get a factory GM switch if it really means that much to you.
- I think they even make a large unit for the one-piece benches too (like the back seat in ext-cabs)
