I know this is old news but I'm so impressed I must share this with any poor soul still running with stock shocks.
I just installed Billsteins and my truck has 21k on it. I live in AZ and never offroad. The streets here are in very good condition. The stock shocks front and rear were so bad its hard to believe GM is using parts with such poor quality. Especially in a 45k truck. I could push them in and out easily and their was about a 1-2 inch gap of free-play in them. So in other words no dampening until the shock traveled over 1-2 inches.
With the Billsteins the ride is better than new. Wheel hop is gone. Ride is very well controlled but not hard.
If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and splurge for anything but stock.
Regards.
