I am going to change all the fluids in my truck. The transfer cast recommends Auto Trak II. The manual transfer case says Dextron III.

I will use a high quality synthetic (probably redline) but what type of fluid should I use??? ATF? What is Auto Trak?

Thanks,

Stephen

You have the New Venture Gear 263 (NVG-263) Pushbutton Selectable transfer case. Dextron III is the appropriate fluid.

The automatic transfer case can be found in "all wheel drive" equipped GM trucks & SUV's (light-duty applications), where the driver can select an AWD position on the t-case panel, then traction control applies torque to all or some wheels as needed, depending on road conditions.

All 2500HD/3500 series trucks use either a manual shift or push-button shift t-case (which is really just a manual with an electric servo actuator).
