Stuck in 4X4

I got on the freeway and noticed that I was in 4x4, the dash three button controller was not lit up at all. I pulled over and the Service 4x4 light came on. I drove slowly to three dealerships on Saturday and found the dash button controller but still no fix. So I quess it must be the controller under the dash. I tried to replace a switch on the transfer case but there was not one there. So yes we have two different style transfer cases for 02 models. Oh, it went out of 4x4 mode when I gave up on trying to get out of 4x4 and decided to drive it like it was till today. So now the three button switch on the dash is not broke but not lit either and the Service 4x4 is lit up on the dash.

Sounds like you have the same thig I do. Eric said that the motor thing for the 4x4 enguagement is at the wrong angle. When you take it in, the dealer should take it apart and trun it to the next spot. That's all they do... I think. :confused: Eric should see this shortly. He'll be here tonight.

I do not that style of steering wheel. I was a member when they allowed more charaters. But know I can not change my sig.

It was the encoder motor on the transfer case. It was pricey.
