Hey folks, new to the forum and wondered if anyone had experienced the feeling of a little shake when you accellerate moderately to hard from the transmission when you first begin to move. It sounds like and vibration feels like something heavy is sliding in the bed of the truck. I have read a lot of the other questions and have not seen something similiar.

Check the drive shaft. Some earlier models had 2pc. drive shafts. They were a problem and were replaced with a 1 pc. shaft. I had mine done on my 02. Do a search on the forum and you should find plenty of info. It was a warrenty replacement. Unfortunitly you may have to pay for the fix.

As Grayfox suggested, do a search here in this forum for the keywords "launch shudder". This phenomenon occurred mostly with extended cab longbox 4x4's and crew cab shortbox 4x4's. It's a wheelbase thing, that affected the two-piece rear driveline u-joint angularity.

My 2001 GMC crew cab shortbox 4x4 was included in the driveline campaign, but I chose not to have the new single-piece driveline installed. My truck didn't exhibit the symptoms, so I thought I'd rely on the original engineering instead of a "fix".

O.K. I have launch shudder. Now, I have a 3500 CC 2 wd. Does anyone have the TSB that covers that model. I have searched Alldata.com and can't find it.
