I am going to perform my own 5K mile service.

Besides the oil change and checking fluids, and torqueing lug nuts, what else do I need to do?

Thanks

Bora

Hi Bora: hey, just curious...is your handle referring to the Maserati by chance? If so, definately one of my fave exotics!

Sorry...got sidetracked. Allison recommends that the spin-on filter be changed at 5k miles, though GM recommends change at 10k. Hmmmm...who ya gonna go with on that one? tongue.gif

If I were you, I'd change it (I did), but I seem to remember this topic arising before, and there was some debate over it...

At 5K you might want to consider changing the fluid in the rear diff. I did mine at 3k, and I used Amsoil.

Does Allison recommend changing the spin on every 5000? Or just the first 5000? What is the change interval after that? Im not talking about opinions just what Allison says. Thanks

I don't see 4x4 in your signature but if it is don't forget to change the front diff oil.

It is a 4x4. I will update the sig.

Thanks for the advice. I still need to locate the chassis lube fittings and lube those as well.
