Allison slipping

I have a 05 lly/allason with the edge mod.Had a problem once when the tranny sliped.Was in 5 gear going about 50 mph and acelerating.Then the moter cut out,herd a clunk,engien light came on.The edge mod was in level 3.Should I have to be more carefull when in level 3 or was this a uncomin event?

The problem you experienced was likely as much due to the low engine rpm (50-mph in 5th) as it was the added power. The individual torque impulses at low rpm are significant, and which can induce TCC slippage, where it might not at a higher engine rpm.

Thanks Jim I will go a little more easy in 5th gear on low rpm.I know there is a lot of torque being applied when turbo starts kiking in on level 3.
