Does anyone know the torque value for the body mounting bolts? I put on a set of Genuine Steel nerf bars last night and just tightened up the body bolts and now I have a noise that sounds like it is coming from on of the mounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

D-n-Tyke,

Westin nerf bar instructios stated - Torque the six body fasteners to 65Ft/Lbs; 1/2 ".

I noticed that the original bolts had a yellow colored thread lock on them. I used the new bolts supplied with the kit and after a week or so I retorqued my bolts.

Hope that's all it is.

Good Luck,

On my last truck I needed to add 2 big washers to each mount between the step rails and the body mount to space the rails so they didnt rub against ther body mount itself (actually it was a very loud creaking noise). But they were Smittybuilt not Westin, but it worked fine. Hope this helps
