gear oil

pretty soon i am going to do some real heavy towing. what gear oil does everyone recomend? 85w140 or 75w90

When in doubt, follow the owner's manual to help ensure warranty coverage.

Otherwise, the heavier synthetic lube might be advised when towing heavy in the hot summer heat. Probably don't need it in the cooler seasons.

I seem to remember reading about the Dodge rear axle lube recommendations (pre-AAM1150). The heavier synthetic lube was recommended for pulling heavy during the summer in the Dodge application Dana 80.
