For my '01 2500 D/A, I've ordered a Jordan 2020 Ultima brake controller and am considering installation locations. Below and to one side or the other of the steering column gives the cable to the brake pedal a straight shot. After I pull the two visible screws on this panel, is there a method or trick for removing it? If there is room behind it I may make a cutout and mount the controller flush. Any suggestions?

THANKS!

There should be room to mount a controller faceplate flush with the knee bolster panel.

First work loose and pull the instrument trim panel off, then remove the two screws securing the bottom of the knee bolster panel. There are two spring clips securing the top of the bolster panel, Just pull up and straight back.

For customers who don't really want holes in their Knee bolster panel I use the 2 holes driectly under the column above the brake pedal in the metal peice @ the bottom of the plastic Knee bolster panel. This position gives most drivers a clear line of sight through the lower part of the steering wheel and attaches easily w/ two short 1/4 screws and no drilling/disassembly.
