I have a 01 crew cab long bed when towing my snowmoble trailer about 3k lbs I get a vibration from 55mph to 65 mph 60 mph being the worst it feels like driving over the rumble strips on the side of the road . I don't know if is a ujoint or driveshaft, rear end. it's hard to feel unloaded but I can feel it when the throtle hard at the same speeds as above. I have heard about launch shudder will you feel shudder at those speeds.

Thanks Tom

I have always found tires are a big problem at this speed. Have you had your tires balanced WELL lately. A good shop with a good machine, preferably the new Hunter GSP9700 unit, should do a balancing before you start considering other things as the problem.

Much has been posted about the two piece -vs- single piece drive shaft. Might be worth looking at or a trip to the stealer.

I don't think it is tire balancing when I am not towing there is no vibration un less i get on the throtle real hard up hill at those speeds, on level ground light throtle no vibration same speeds.

Okay, but 60 MPH seems to be a magic number where tire balance shows up as a shimmy.

Happened on my Subbie, happens on my sportscars, figure a truck isn't immune.
