With 5661 miles, I experienced my first problem with my GMC D/A. Stopped at a fastner supply company, bought some hardware. Prepared to leave after starting truck. Shifted to reverse and no engagement. Shifted to drive then to reverse, went into reverse ok. Talked to Allison person at local distributor and was told to replace main control filter (spin-on) Filter was replaced at 2600 miles at first service. Now replaced again. I did find some light fuzz on magnet. Will see what occurs now . Must have allowed some debris into the solenoids.
I also discovered that the differential level plug is leaking. Have an appointment to have it checked tomorrow.

Sounds like the NSBU (Neutral Safety Back Up) switch might be acting up. You would not be the first and won't be the last to have this problem. There is an update I believe that includes a splash guard or something like that to help it stay dry. Most problems occur with slush and snow though some heavy rain would not be out of the question.
