Tailgate latches/

Anybody else having a problem with the tail gate not latching? My 01 never closed very good from day one and now it mostly just bounces back at me when I try to close it. I tried adjusting the post screws in the bed to no avail. Please no "It's the way your closing it" posts.

The latch on the PS of my truck didn't close as tightly as the DS did, so I adjusted it. Now, it closes perfectly -- no looseness (is that a word?) anywhere.
