Buy new or used 2500HD D/A?

I am looking to buy a 2500HD, Crew Cab, 4x4 D-max/Allison. Are there used vehicles out there with a price that makes it worth buying used or should I just by a new one?

If I were to find an '02 or '03 with <40K miles, I would figure on needing to save about $6000 over buying new. Anyone have insight on this?
