....wheel bearing and new hub. Plus the inner tie rod end has play...also upper control arms are hitting and rubbing in the mount...metal on metal and noticeable wearing...superlift...not feeling so super now. It's in the shop now but I'm wondering if anyone has had these problems without the lift kit and 37"s...

There is nothing Heavy Duty on a 2500HD.I found out the hard way- I installed 285 18" tires and rims {lots of $$$$}. On dry pavement I could`nt turn the steering wheel. After looking at tie rod and steering parts I realised it is borderline even for a 1/2 let alone HD.I drive it stock and hold my breath!!! A 350 Ford is brutal.

Son has a 04 Dodge 250 Cumalong 4 door LB 4wd and needed entire left front rotor hub and bearing assy last Dec. no mudding or towing other than an ATV. Our shop sees a lot of Fords needing ball joints, and tie rod ends @ 80 to 120000 miles. The other companies are not much better. bob.......

I just replaced a tie rod end on a 350 PowerStroke this morning. Had 216K on the clock.

Edited to mention they were the original front end parts.

Hey, New to your site, and am thinking of changing TEAMS.(truck manufactures that is). My 03 f250 just got back from the shop with 35K miles. I'm the original owner, and use the truck for towing atv's and as a daily driver. So far, at 5K both front hubs had to be replaced as well as the rubber mounts between cab/bed and frame. At 20K the ball joints were shot/replaced. Now at 35K the ball joints again.
Is the frontend and Duramax holding up?
Thanks!

75ooo Miles and most of them towing 36ft gooseneck and no parts replaced on front end yet. Still drives great. These front ends are tuff if kept greased with high quality grease.IMO

Pitman and idler arms replaced at 35K miles. Truck is on-road only with an occasional trip to the dump. Occasional towing of a 8000lb race trailer (once a month or less).

"We Are Professional Grade" my ass.

I just did pitman/idler and two rear axle seals at 45K. Those parts used to go 75K-100K.

The dealer replace my steering box on my truck and now there is play in the steering I took it back in they said that the pitman and idler arms are worn. I looked at them while someone was turning the steering wheel back and forth and dont see the wear I was thinking it might be the steering box like it needs adjustment. I would mind replacing the parts if that fixes it but I sure want heavier ones than factory only 41,000 miles alway greased at 3,000 miles

I grease the front end at every oil change, which is 5K miles with a high quality synthetic grease. At 34K miles my truck is showing as much front end play as my 94 K2500 and that truck has 127K miles on it.

Found out my problem was the steering box I adjusted the steering box and all the play is gone I am sure glad I didnt spend money on the parts and trouble to replace them.

Been runnin a 6" lift for about 50k. 315 mud tires pull sleds, skid loader, 22ft gooseneck all the time and know problems. mechanic could not believe that the front end was still as tight as it is.

Mine seems as tight as the day I bought it. 2003 with 69+k miles. Running 265s but otherwise stock. I haven't greased nearly as often as I should have, at least early on, now greas'n at each oil change. Did notice that the tierod end boots were blown out and seemed to be of a different material than any other, also light blue in color. Planning on replacing them soon.
