OD off in Tow Haul Mode?

I noticed on my 05 Dmax w/Allison that the gear shifter indicates that when the Tow/Haul mode is switched on that the Over Drive is turned off.

The older trucks just said "Tow Haul" on the shifter. Was the Over Drive switched off on the older models too?

T/H does not automatically lock out O/D. The button on the shifter allows for selection of either option or both.

Pushing and releasing the button engages or disengages T/H.

Holding the button in for a second or two (until the light comes on) locks out or unlocks O/D. The O/D lockout light is near the T/H light.
