View Full Version : Alcoas again
Anyone have any news on the availability of Alcoas for a 3500? I have been away and the last I heard they were to be ready for April. Thanks
moisheh,
I received an email on 03/16/02 from Southwest Wheel indicating they were going to start taking pre-orders for the Hotshots the following week.
I called them earlier thsi month and they were hoping to have the Hotshots by May....I didn't ask what year...and they were no longer taking pre-orders...

DetroitBob,
I'll have to see your wheels if you get them.
Thanks for the replies. I guess they are reinventing the wheel. Over a year to make a wheel??
I called Alcoa today. I was told they are going to start shipping in "about" two weeks to the distributors. I think it's pretty bad that the customer service rep.knew my voice and remembered what year and model truck I have. Hope this helps . smile.gif
What kind of prices are you getting quoted? Are you getting four or six rims?
Leev, Read this post about the Alcoas.

Hope this helps.
Just an update from Alcoa. They said it's going to be alittle longer. They say end of June now. I'll check back with them in a few weeks. smile.gif
I was in Spokane WA yesterday and dealer called Alcoa and they said they had more problems and have recalled everything that may have been shipped. Also said they will probably not be available till end of June to middle of July.
American Eagle who shows 4 different types for 01 - 02 now say they also have a problem with their wheels. They are saying you must use a spacer for front wheels and no warranty if you proceed to install.
So back to square one.

Has anyone talked to Alcoa about the Classic wheel? Is this avaliable? Do they only have problems with the Hot Shot wheel or all wheels for 01-02 dualies?
Maverick,
Alcoa say's the Hot Shot style is the only one for the 2001-2002 K3500's. The customer service person I spoke with earlier this week said "Please be patient the wheels will be worth the wait". I sure hope so. I've had them on order since November 2001 when I ordered my truck.Hope this helps.
