Has anyone used Velvet Ride shackles to lower the rear end instead of trying to raise the front, cranking the torsion bars? And by installing these shackles, does it reduce the payload at all?

Hi

I checked into those shackles, I have a 01 3500 CC Longbed 2wd. I got longer shackles through Chevy. Lowered it 2", but that set it down on the overloads. So I took the frame Pads off, redrilled the holes and raised them up. They just do touch the Pads.
I asked the same question, the response was the velvet Rides set it down on his overloads also. I don't know if this is any help, but my 2 cents.

Hey I posted you a while back, about the steering nut. My repley came out wrong, The Loose Nut was on this end. Hope I didn't offend you.

P S. Doesn't look like I will make it up your way, after all. Fuel prices are going out of sight, here in Ca.

I put a set on my wife's 1 ton. It only lowered it about 3/4 of an inch, but it rides better.
