Just now I shut down my 2003 DM and when I started to exit, there was a terrible motor noise from under the seat and a popping. The only way it would stop at all was to turn the ignition back on and turn "easy exit" to off.
I've also seen now that the pop can be replicated when pushing down on the rear-most horizontal-oriented switch on the side of the seat. A little hum in the up position too. I should mention that in either switch position, the seat doesn't move.
What's causing this and is it owner-serviceable? What should it cost to fix?
