I was on my way to pay for my long awaited d/a lt silverado ,trans started slipping and motor was reving alittle so i pulled over ,the bumper was covered in trans, fluid, and a couple qts. on ground.i drove about a 1/4 to 1/2 mi. total from initial slipping .what should itell dealer?,demand a new one, extended warranty or what? advise welcome.just got a call from dealer he said line to cooler had clip not on all the way. still need advise.

I doubt you'll get them to replace the tranny so I vote for 2 wordes, EXTENDED WARRANTY. And I'd scream to get it.

My tranny also leaked the first day I got it. Took it back to the dealer they said they would try a fix that was out for them. Think it was putting some washers and seals in. (I wasnt to thrilled about their "fix" idea) anyway the fix did not work and I got a brand new tranny. So it worked out in the end. Pretty frustrating tho to have that nice new truck and then have to drive a rental car for 2 weeks.

New tranny, that's what I'd tell them (or 100K warranty).
