Rear differential problem

The rear differential on my '03 GMC 3500 D/A was just rebuilt with only 27K mi. There was too much play, resulting in the differential producing too much noise and heat. I was told this is not common. Anyone else expereince any problems with the rear differential on a dually or other HD truck?

broke the right side axle shaft on mine. Pulling out of the driveway. blowed the end of the tube up broke the bearing retainer nuts. GM put a new complete unit under it in warranty right at 36k miles
