All I have heard and seen sez new sheet metal in 2007. Visited my dealer the other day and drove a 2006 LBZ. Very nice truck! I told the sales rep that I would be ordering a 2007 as I want the updated body style. He said he just came back from a sales meeting and was told the trucks would not be restyled until 2008 model. Anyone have info on the conversion date? Could he have just been trying to get me to by one now?

According to the GM folks I spoke with, they began retrofitting some of their assembly plants to the GMT-900 body style earlier this year.

I have heard that the 2007 GMT-900 Suburban & Tahoe were unveiled at the Anaheim auto show a month or so ago.... This is months ahead of GM's original plan to introduce the public to the new sheet metal at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2006.

The January issue of Four Wheeler has a picture of the GMT-900 platform on page 14.

I wouldnt put much thought into what 97% of the sales person says.... most of them are full of BS and want a sale now or dont want to talk to you! How amny of you guy have tried to order a truck and got the run a round???? I have had it happen twice , first time the salesman didnt know there was a differance from 2500 to 2500hd , that was my tip to get the heii out of there!

In this forum, there are dates posted for the conversion of the various manufacturing plants that will produce the GMT-900 based vehicles. This might provide some insight into when the earliest the new vehicles would be available. Now we just need to determine which plant builds the HD models (I think mine was build in the Pontiac plant).
