Hi guys. I am the new guy around here. Thought I would make my first post worthwhile.

I just moved WAY up North for work purposes and have recently bought a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax.

Before I left for the 900 mile journey, I did all my fluid and filter maintenance on my truck. I ran into a problem with the fuel filter. I replaced the filter and used the existing float sensor for "Water In Fuel".

After starting the truck "Water in Fuel" indication light came on the message center. I have drained the filter many times with little or no success as far as fluid goes in there. I am on my 3rd tank of fuel and it is still present.

Is the float just stuck? Should I take it off and re-install the sensor? Or is there a code that needs to be reset?

Thanks for any help that may be offered.

You might try lightly tapping on the bottom of the fuel filter, in an attempt to correct the problem. If that doesn't help, I'd remove te filter and sensor package to see if there's something you can do.
