Well-I just got my truck back from the dealership and they couldn't find any problem with the drive train vibe...worked on it for 17 hours..replaced the u-joints and shaft angles within specs. Put 500 lbs. in the back--still vibration. Checked all the angles-still getting harmonic through the motor at 60 mph. The mechanic at the dealership took 2006 and put 520 lbs in rear and had the same harmonic vibration that the 04 did. GM is working on a new driveshaft thats' supposed to dampen the vibration - but they still don't have it out yet. I also told them that the motor is running rough and blows white smoke out once in awhile and they can't find anything wrong! Anyone have this problem? It's been in 3 times for the injectors-and they were replaced...

I wonder if they put a note in thier glovebox of the new 06's to tell the next guy that buys one-he can't put 600 lbs in without a vibration---or will they take the $42,000 and keep their mouth shut?

I have a 2001 D/A C/C S/B and hall my 600lb atv all over with no vibration. Something is not right, and I would definitely keep on them until it's resolved. As soon as they figure out you have some knowledge and are not going away they will play ball.

I'd guess there's something else causing the vibration. Possibilities like a bent wheel or out of balance wheel/tire combo, or bad shock.

In addition, there is a stretch of highway near here that produces what would appear to be a problem with the truck... Just barely perceptable ripples in the pavement for several miles... Can't feel them in a car, but do in a 2500HD.

You said, "still getting hormonics through the motor at 60 mph". I'd suggest they check the heat shields mounted to the underside of the truck, adding the weight probably just amplifies a vibration thats already there. If it were the bed of the truck vibrating the extra weight should dampen the vibration, but if its the shields underneath it may just be making it worse.
