So I go and pick up my trailer after getting some repairs done to it. Hook her up and tow her home, in the rain (fun  ), no problem. Unhook the 5'er and back the truck into the driveway. Get out to go in the house and see that ALL my brake lights are still on  . I'm not in the truck, the pedal is not stuck down. What the ..... So help me out here. I tried to find the break light switch on the pedal. Unplugged what I found (White connector with black plug plugged into it attached to the pedal)and nothing happened???? So I end up pulling the fuse under the hood and it turns off the rear lights but not the third light??? So here I sit, with the third light still glowing, wondering what the deal is. Anyone have this problem before? What do I need to look for? What can I do? HELP!!!!

FirstDiesel got it....
Went out and unplugged the controller and all is good now. Sounds like I get to stop by the RV shop on the way home tomorrow and have them swap that out.

Thanks for the quick reply....
I owe you are beer.

Ooooohhhhh,

I see how you are!! We go out to the desert and eat dust together.

I give ya my cell phone #, and you don't bother to call me with an electrical question.... uh huh.

I sure coulda used a beer, too.... :D

Glad you got it figgered out! I honestly would have gone the same route - 1st checked the brake light sw and 2nd suspected the controller.

Now we need this rain to let up before this weekend.

Trailer Controller
Information
The following vehicles are affected:
2002-2003
- Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT
- Chevrolet Avalanche
1999-2003
Chevrolet Silverado
GMC Sierra
2000-03
Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe
GMC Yukon Yukon XL
2003
- Hummer H2
Some customers may comment that
when the headlamps or park lamps are
on, the brakes on the trailer are always
applied, or that the back lighting for the
trailer brake controller illuminates only
when the brakes are applied.
This condition may be due to wiring
changes within the vehicle electrical sys-tem
for the 2003 model year.
Inspect the brake controller wiring har-ness
jumper that is plugged into the vehi-cle
relay block body. The relay block body
is located under the left side of the
instrument panel near the left kick panel,
behind a plastic cover.
The 1999 through early 2003 wiring
harness jumper that plugs into the relay
block will have a reddish/brown 6-way
connector and a tag with the last four
digits of the wiring harness part number.
Second design 2003 may have a white
plastic connector with part number 5418
as well.
- The 1999 jumper is/was
PN 12171982 with a pink/purple tag
identifier of 1982. This number has
been superseded to 15366255, with
a pink/purple tag identifier of 6255.
- The 2000 jumper harness is
PN 15366255. The pink/purple tag
identifier is 6255.
- the 2001-02 jumper is PN 15086884.
The orange tag identifier is 6884.
- The 2003 jumper
is PN 15085418.
The orange tag identifi-er
is 5418.
When transferring
the brake controller
with the wiring jumper
attached from a 2001-
02 vehicle to a 2003
vehicle, a change to the
jumper harness con-nector
must be per-formed.
To modify a 12171982,
15366255 or 15086884
harness for use in a
2003 vehicle, switch the
wires in cavities A and
D.
To modify a 15085418
harness for use in a
1999-2002 vehicle,
switch the wires in cavi-ties
A and D.

Mic - Is that a TSB?

I just went out to my '02 DuraMax 2500HD CC and the tail lights are stuck on. I unplugged the controller for my trailer and no change. The right blinker will knock out the cyclops and tail running lights, but then the right directional is stuck on and not blinking. The left directional works normally and has no effect on the lights.

The lights and cyclops are now stuck on. I pulled the fuses marked brakes and that had no effect. I am at my wits end!!! Any idea what this is?
