Hmmmm, "grape juice" all around, eh? ;)
Why not.
Well it seems that when I changed mine two years ago, I did put synthetic in the front and back. Guess that means I am covered.

I changed mine to Amsoil last fall. I guess I'm ahead of the curve too. :D
I was surprised how little oil the front diff holds. I wasn't expecting less than 3 qts. (IIRC)

I noticed that it also said to change the vent hose connector, if the hose connector is black to a white hose connector (part# 12479296)..... Since the black one is not compatible with synthetic lubricants.

thanks for the good info

Hmm, I siliconed my black one onto the diff housing after removing the o-ring. It was leaking really bad before since it would 'jump a thread' when screwing it on moderately tight.
Is the 'white' one a better design that won't leak? I wish someone would make a metal cover instead of this cheap plastic crap...
Does anyone know the TSB Number that accompanies this front axle lube change. I'm going to hit my dealer up for it but having the TSB would help.
Thanks!

The notice came out in the March edition of Techline .... I too went after my dealer .... The Dealer would'nt do it on a local level ...said he'd have to call the regonal service manager to get the go ahead.
Just a footnote to add though .... they change all the new trucks over to synthetic before delivery.
I just went a did it myself and yep, the new vent connector is still plastic. ... I just used a bit of locktite plastic thred sealant ... works great and you can still take out the vent of you had to.
