Just a note for all of you on my 06 LLY, I am noticing the transmission is running very cool. In my F-250 days this was a real problem with the coolest running trannies at 160 degF and easily reaching 190 degF or higher when under a load at low or high speeds. This resulted in frequent overheats that I have noted.
Luckily I never experienced an overheat on the Ford (indicated by a flashing OverDrive light on the gear shifter).
Anyhow, my truck sometimes going to work never gets over 140 degF and have yet to ever see it get over 160 pulling up a long hill. Now that is cooling down here in the deep south, the temps are rarely getting over 120 degF. I am just amazed. I hope this means a long transmission life.
Thanks for listening, comments and experience welcome.
