I picked up 05 Chev 2500 D/A,etc and during delivery lecture salesman told us tire rotation intervals and said that if I had transmission trouble the first question warranty would ask is if I rotated the tires. Please help me understand any engineering principle involved here. I have thought of out of balance tires but some snow tires are directional so rotating would`nt change any thing. Any ideas!!!!! He also said oil to be changed every 5000KM(3000MI). Maybe there shop is dead???
Do not take service advice from your salesman.

I agree "don`t take service advice from a salesman" but the owner gave me the same line and I didn`t question him on it because of the "GM Attitude"(we are perfect-know all see all, etc}. I just wondered if I was missing something.Any ideas???
I tend to believe my tire dealer for tire questions and I have been following a modified oil change schedule. The manual says to change every 8000 km for city driving and every 12000 for highway so I change it every 10,000 kms or 4 months which ever comes first. When it goes in for the oil change and grease I get the tires rotated too. I have 85,000 km on the truck and my original factory tires are only at half tread depth. This schedule works very well for me. :D :D :D
