While on the road in Nashville, Tn this week I started feeling a vibration from the rear of the truck. Stopped at a local dealer and had it checked. After road testing the dealer agreed that the problem was in the rear end. Upon tear down both carrier bearings were pretty much chewed up. The dealer replaced both, flushed and cleaned the housing area, said he inspected the pinion bearing and the wheel bearings. The truck runs very smooth and what I thought was a driveshaft slip joint pop is now gone. Should I expect more bearing failures from the metal particles and has anyone else had a similar failure??

No, not if it was flushed right and cleaned thoroughly before the install.

No. In fact I'm a little surprised to hear of such a problem unless you've got 300,000 Miles or so on it.
