I ordered Bilstein's for my '03 2500 about 3 weeks ago, the fronts came in w/in a week or so. I called Bilstein shortly after that and they said they expected a large shipment of rear's to arrive on 9/9, and they will be filling outstanding orders based on the earlist order dates first. I hope to seem mine by around 9/20 or so.

Are there different models of Bilsteins for 2500HD trucks? In other words, lower and higher quality/performance models? I hate to buy a set and find out they foisted some low performance model on me...
Seems like the Bilsteins are liked better than the best adjustable Rancho shocks by the few that have experience with both so I am leaning toward the Bilsteins...anybody have OTHER comparison info so I don't have to send any money to the generally USA-disliking Germans? smile.gif

The earliest I could get a ship date is 11/30/03 for the rears.
This item is on back order. The revised estimated ship date is 11/30/2003

BILBE5-6082-H0
Rear Heavy Duty Shock
As far as I know there is only 1 bilstein shock type for the 2500HD (BILBE5-6082-H0 and BILBE5-6082-H0, front and rears)
I did find 1 place that had'em in stock
http://www.ajusa.com/
They were pricy but offered free shipping
Fronts aren't a problem for availability, but rears sure are. I have about 50 pcs on that 9-9 shipment which will likely NOT fill all of my back orders. May have some fronts left over...

Why is Bilstien having such a hard time filling orders. Maybe Chevy should just make a z71 package on the 2500, then we wouldn't have to worry about it.... ;)

There's a slight typo there, the fronts are BILBE5-6081-HO, I contacted a company in TX yesterday, and I got the stock numbers from them. The rears are like you said though BILBE5-6082-HO. Still no luck in locating any in stock (ANYWHERE) . Hope you're having better luck than me. Keep searching and let me/us know. :D

I bought my Bilsteins from the site below.
http://www.shox.com/?source=overture
I had them in just a few days and got a much better price than I could get locally.

John: Did the 9/9 shipment come in? I may have to get bratwurst and squeeky cheese instead!!
Gerald
9/9 shipment was a sea crate coming into Bilstein. Good week from there to me yet...

I understand people eager to get these new shocks and shopping around, but remember, price isn't everything. Please remember advertisers of this site, who give out MUCH free info. Without their knowledge, advice, and time, this site wouldn't be where it is today.

Thats why I'm still waiting.
Just got my Bilsteins today (front & rear) from ORW in San Diego. Waited about 2 weeks. I was number 19 on their wait list.
Jeez! Is the Bilstein comp. the only ones building shocks for our trucks? I remember when we off-road raced, there had to be ten manufactures of shocks. tongue.gif
I fired out a few sets Wednesday, and have 16 more sets ready to go. This puts me well into August orders.
Seem to remember a set going to Lake Charles LA ;)
All shipped to 48 states should have email ship notification sent when shipped!
I've been tracking them in their transit to Lake Charles. Due here tomorrow. I'll probably install them tomorrow. Any bratwurst and squeeky cheese in the package?
Thanks, JK

Thanks, JK No, sorry I can't pack much of anything with the shocks as they get a bit unruly and try to break out of the boxes.
I have enough to do 5 more sets for tomorrow, and then it's first or second week in October before I have more...
Looks like we are up to Aug 27 on the BO list, and will still have some extra on the early Oct load!

JK,
Just placed my order 9/27/03. Mod #1 here we go! :D
Just put mine on last night. What a difference. Did anyone reuse the bushing on the front shocks that help keep them centered? I didnt notice them until i was finished and cleaning up.

That nylon bushing has a tendency to squeak.
Are there any shocks available from kennedy yet. I took would like a little less bounce?
Out of stock, but more due in mid Oct. Most, if not all of these are sold. In December there will be a HUGE shipment that should put them back in stock and in good shape. For now all I can say is filling in the order placed, and the BO is national, so unless someone is holding stock, they are in short supply...
