Two years old and mine rotted out. Both broke when I sat on the tailgate, I fell and got hurt. They rotted out in the middle and did not show any signs of a problem on the outside cover.

Talked to GM. Like always they said a version of ....."tough..".

HDNATE,

Did contact GM. They want me to spend money and do R&D for them by delivering the cables to some specified dealer at cost to me. I bought new ones but they offered nothing, the same nothing they offered for my other $5,000+ of repairs.

Sure wish this 'small potatoes' cable issue were the only thing. I just sent GM pictures of my truck with the giant lemons plastered over the sides and back. Cute.
