Another broken Allison

I just got a 2003 3500, CC, 4x4, D/A to replace my 2001 (had to have it's tranny replaced at 5000 miles) and with 1700 miles the tranny broke. Of coarse it was while I was on vacation. G.M. is replacing it without any questions asked. I figured when the 01 broke it was just bad luck, but now my brand new 03. I wonder how good these transmissons really are. Also the 03 trans had black fluid in it and I was told it is a lifetime fluid. Any body have info on this? :(

I don't think there is such a thing as a "lifetime" ATF, unless of course the lifetime of the tranny is under 25,000 miles.... :rolleyes:

Just changed to Mobil 1 ATF and the old stuff was red!
