Well my truck is in for another Hard Clutch pedal fix and GM Tech told the dealer to install a tranny cooler and special tranny fluid? Any one else got one installed on a ZF-6?

???? How much more special do you get then Transynd, It comes oem in ZF6. IIRC, the slushbox dont even have provisions for a cooler.. Besides, how is all of that gonna make your clutch pedal softer?

Interseting...the Ford version of the ZF S6-650 has a cooler....but it also has an internal pump to move the fluid through the cooler, which the GM version doesn't. We get the Transynd, which they don't.

I'm thinking a tranny cooler retrofit isn't going to be possible, and like dmaxallitech said, we already got the unobtanium fluid...and nothing about the fluid in the transmission has anything to do with the clutch stiffening up when the clutch's fluid gets hot....Hmmm, would it be possible to put a cooler on the hydralic clutch?

Doesn't seem like it, because there's no circulation...but some high dollar super high temp brake fluid might be in order as a substitute for the clutch fluid.

I don't know how it is supposed to work either. All I know is it took over a week to get it installed and working. Not exactly a happy camper about it. Pick it up tonight so I'll have to make some long drives to check it out soon.

iirc, the zf6 has provisions for pto, so it has pto cover plates. fastcoolers are avalable to fit them. they are an aluminum extension that is finned. they add fluid capacity and cooling. there is also some sort of filter made by eaton that is a direct replacment for one of the pto covers. oil gets splashed in by gear rotation through the top port, and gravity flows it through the filter eleiment where it drains at the bottom.
