I have a couple of 911EP lights that I bought. The lights which looks like a light stick, will be mounted inside my truck. One in front, one in rear. I do not want to mount it on the windshield and rear window with the suction cups or window tab because they can sometime suddenly fall down. I would like to mount it somewhere securely. I am thinking about using the 911EP Regular/Tall brackets (see link) and mount it on the headliner. The headliner in front and rear seems to be strong and solid so I thought it would be a good location to mount. I am not sure what materials are behind the the interior carpet, but it feels solid. Is it a thick plastic behind the carpet? I am thinking about mounting the brackets with a couple of short coarse screws each. Would it work? Anyone know if it can be done?

When I was getting the cab lights installed in my truck they had to remove the front headliner. Up there is an additional steel crossbrace. Don't know about the rear. I'd make a suggestion. Mark the holes of the bracket adn then pull the headliner back to make sure you are hitting the crossbrace and not the roof sheetmetal. The brace has holes in it in some locations. It's simple to remove in the front. Remove the plastic on the A-pillars, the overhead console, and the sunshades and it should come out easily enough. The rear I don't know but should be similar.

For the overhead console, all I can see is one screw. I believe that there are other spots that is secured but I can't see it. Also for the sunshades, I see that there are 3 (I think) screws and it appear to be tork. Is that correct? It is so small that I am afraid that once I pull it out, I might not be able to relocate the hole for screws.

Do you have the large console or small? My truck has the big one with the sunglass, garage remote, etc storage out of an LT package truck. That console uses 1 screw and L-shaped tabs to secure it. I'm not sure of the smaller console, but I assume it to use the same screw hole and tab setup (yes, I know what happens when you assume). Try unscrewing the screw then sliding the console forward towards the front of the truck. As far as the sunshades go, I believe you are correct as to the 3 small screws. Remember that once you put the headliner back in place you will be able to see the screw holes going through the material and you can use them as guides to reattach the sunshades.

Luck,
