Thanks to all who have posted so much info on this procedure I have finally, at 54K miles, got my ATF changed over to Amsoil Universal ATF.
Since my dealer couldn't do it (what is the warranty implication on this , anyway?) I found a local truck shop that performed the filter change and bleed and feed for only $70 labor charge (as a cancer survivor, I'm not supposed to come in contact with automotive fluids).
I just printed out the most informative posts on the subject and gave them to the shop foreman and made syre he read them--especially about the filter magnet.
