2003, 3500 HD Brake Control Hook Up

Well the General did it again, when you order the towing package you no longer seem to get the Brake control harness, (according to the parts department I checked with, they are not even available yet. So the old harness will work, RIGHT ?? NO WAY, they have relocated the brake light wire in the underdash fuse box from the upper right location to the lower left. You can call Tekonsha at their toll free number for help in moving the wires in your existing harness or visit

Also the right hand mirrors no longer have the smaller image mirror in them.

Oh well, you got to love the D/A combination. :(

I also found this out the hard way .
talked to my dealer they knew nothing about
this as mine was the first 03 they got in
for now i have hooked the interupted side of
brake light wire to the brown instead of the blue
wire in the gm harness as they are now in oppesite corners. talk about stupid for gm.
I am an rv dealer so we will have to put up with this
for some time. it does in onwers manuel that brake harness comes with the 5th wheel wire pkg. have both
trailer tow & 5th wheel pkg on truck but did not even
get the harness with truck. also no under hood light
on 03
