About a month ago I started experiencing my speedometer jumping erratically. It would instantaneously jump from 70mph down to 50mph for example. This caused the cruise control to try and adjust accordingly. The dealership tried replacing the speed sensor first then replacing the PCM. Neither of these cured the problem. On the third visit for this their tow truck driver mentioned that the tow truck had the same problem and told the techs. what had been done to fix it. It was something called a Reluctor <sp> that is in the tail section of the transmission. It was explained to me as some sort of wheel that was slipping inside the transmission. The cure was to torque the bolts that hold the yoke to the proper tension. Just thought I woud pass this along so in case someone experienced the same problem it won't take them a month for the dealership to find the problem.
