02 DMAX is one year old, it has not been back to dealer for anything, not even the free oil change. 14,500 miles so far, changed oil six times and trans filter 3 times. have not changed Rear End grease. loaded with 91/2ft. slide-in camper it gets 12-16 mpg, empty, best of 20.88. only complaint is stupid trailer mirrors. Thanks to all the people who put their time and effort into this site, some of you really know your s--t!!!!!

Hey xamarud ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! My boy "Max" turned 1 year old Jan 18th. He's got 14,482 miles, oil changes 1k, 2500, 5k, 10k, gets one @ 15k, tranny and fuel filters 2500, 5k, 10k, now every 10k for both, differentials @ 10k. About 3500 miles with 24ft 5th wheel, mileage 14-15 around town/pullin' 5ver, 18-19 hiway, best 21.2mpg. Only been to the dealer for the steering rattle, no other problems. Only real complaint is the thin skin they put on this beast, I really love this thing! I heartly agree with all the help and comments from our members, it's saved me time and answered several stupid questions for a 1st time diesel owner ... Thanks folks!!

You guys change your oil a LOT!!!! Will roll over 100,000 on Friday sometime around the Georgia line myself. I change the oil ~every 8,000 - 10,000 miles (within limits per the 3 oil checks) and fuel filter every 12,000 - 15,000 miles. Rear pumpkin twice, tranny juice twice, front once. Do these trucks need grease too?? :D

Problems: At ~15,000 miles, tranny had a minor problem. New valve body and it was fixed. Just recently, water pump went out. $600 later and a dumbarse stealership, still leaking water.

Wow...

I changed my Allision filter at 5000 miles and plan on doing it
again when I do the 25000 mile service. xamarud, are you sure
you need to do all these filter changes for your tranny?????
Why?

Wondering about all those trans filter changes myself. I don't have the any literature here with me (it's in the shop outside and I'm too damn lazy to go get it). Engine oil in mine gets changed every 5000km and I have yet to change the trans filter - the new filter is on my bench but there's that lazy thing again......I'll get around to it.
