Wondering how to go about changing the rear diff oil and how often. I was looking at my diff and I have never changed my diff oil before and any help I could get would be appreciated.

Its actually quite simple. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the housing and a fill plug in the cover. A 3/8 ratchet and a 15 mm wrench or socket is all thats required for tools. Depending on what info you believe, you'll need 3.5-4 qts of fluid to fill it.
Its a good idea to perform this service after the first 500 miles of towing or 5000 miles of driving on your new truck. You'll appreciate why when you see the condition of the used fluid.
A quality synthetic lube should be used to fill it. Brand is personal opinion for the most part.
