I am installing a second cooler in series with my stock cooler. Old school we used to run thru the radiator and then thru the aux. cooler then back to tranny. On my 98 TJ all the "guru's" said to run thru aux. cooler and then thru radiator; then to tranny, because tranny temp was part of computer control. The idea was to heat tranny fluid back to coolant temp. However, my factory installed cooler on my Dmax is piped in after going thru the radiator, and then to tranny. On page 7-903 and 7-904 in the Helm's service manual they show the aux. cooler being ran to before going to radiator; and from radiator to tranny. The setup on my Jeep works good even while rockcrawling at very slow speed my tranny stays cool. My questions is; Which is the proper way to plumb our trannies???? Thanks in advance for all replies!!
