fuelmileage baffles me

I know this my sound stupid but I have noticed that over the past year that my fuel mileage is improving on my truck is currently getting 18mpg city verus 14mpg city before on average and that Hiway is currently at best 28mpg average is 26mpg before the best tank was 24mpg average was 21mpg
I am curently going to be replacing the injectors as the truck has 345,000 kilometers on the orginal injectors and I have been using fuel injector cleaner in every tank of fuel since the truck was new along with the standyne fuel additives.Fuel mileage is in imperail gallons
Note the truck is 4x4 and has 3.42 gear ratio

I wonder if the trucks get better milage as they age because everything is well broke in and everything has less drag.

My dad was a semi driver and he had a few engines blow up on him in his day. He always said that that those engines ran better than they ever had, just before they blew up. :D

My fuel mileage is about the same as Wayne's and I have a 94 2500 ext. cab 4x4 with 3:73's. I kind of wish I had the 3:42's then I would probably get the same economy at a faster speed. Mine has 320,000 km's and runs like new. I think the difference is with the Canadian fuel...according to people I have talked to anyway.

I was gettig 600k out of 90 liters until I had rebuilt engine with rebuilt injectors and turbo. Now I get 500k. Why do you want to replace your injectors. Get them serviced... sure. Youre turbo too.
